You misunderstand equality.
Firstly you shouldn't hit or use physical violence be it man or woman.
I agree about the 20 year old asking a 50 year old to get up. Thats just wrong.
Second, if you think women are being given 'preference' as you said, how many women CEOs are there in India? How many women hold executive positions in a company? How many women form the working force in India? How many women have you seen in Engineering colleges in India? Who forms a majority percentage in Science colleges in India?
Why are boys and girls isolated by teachers in schools and colleges in India?
What happens to a woman's status/name if she gets divorced? On the contrary what happens to a man?
Even today, who primarily decides life of a woman in India? Don't tell me its her. If you do, you've been out of touch with reality.
Have you been in a bus in Chennai? If you have, have you seen how men STARE at women? Have you seen what happens when a woman sits on the 'male' seats? This is coming from someone who has travelled on buses in Chennai and was shocked at what I saw and experienced. No, not everyone is like that but if not then there would be no need of 'women', seats. In cities like Mumbai there is no distinction of seats. People are a little more open there.
Talking about great women in history, how hard was it for these women to acheive the name they now have? Do you think this was dropped into their lap and they just took it?
Think boy, think!!

IMHO - The Indian society has long ways to go on Women and equality. There is equality only on paper. Pardon me if this hurts your feelings.

Maybe down the line in say 10-20 years things will change. Until then all these seperate lines, seperate seats all these will continue.!!!!!

But I do feel bad that these '20 year old girls' do live and do request the 50 year olds to get up.!!

Now, I think both of u understood the fact that Women and men aren't equal .....

I know women experience so many problems from men..Those aren't my problem....And i wanst talking about beating and slapping being healthy..

Like when u are really really irritated by a person(Or u are hit by him) U hit him back and run away...But when a girl hits to u try to defend to the max and not hurt here much and run away...
It is because girls are weaker and they dont tend to undetstand it....And what if guys stare at u??????U mind ur business.... It;'s only because U LOOK AT THE GUY u know that guy is staring at u...WHy do u at all wnat to look at rogues.......U have so much to achieve in this world.....This is where women are vulnerable....

When they experience problems(Lik guys staring) They aren't stubborn ebough to mind their own business or bold enough to take him to the police...
All they do is " Cry and make an issue of the problem's of women"
How long....When there is a problem sort it out...
And kroopz this post is an after effect of 5 years of THINKING...U want me to think more this...I had already thought about this when i was a real BOy...Now i am far from being a small BOY

i think u didnt understand the problem of me...I am not a misogynist or htilerian way of looking at women kinda guy.....I just want women to Define themselves...Like kroopa still keeps saying women' life is not decided by her...How long....It;s time they did something bold....Probably the after ffect will be abnormal(Society might even ditch u)....But one light kindles the light of another...In a matter of 10 years....People will find it hard to believe concepts like SATI and FEMALE INFANTICIDE existed.....

i agree with some of wat kr00pie had stated... atleast especially in india... men will never know how it feels to b stared at by yuckky guys... to b pinched n molested... to b pushed around n wat not.... but i dont think the girl was right... i have seen women being to rude to men sitting in a women seat... oh boy!!! i dont even go near those seats... thats the time i would wonder.. wats this crap... i mean please... atleast b a lil polite... not like 'utho yeh ladies seat hai...aap logon ko accha lagta hain idhar baithna'... urghhhh

but this is not wat this is all about... i think this is just one eaxmple.. there r many preferences given to women....

but have u ever realised that men do get preference too... but its hidden in the cloak of the word 'general'... take for example trains in mumbai... we have around 2 or 3 ladies compartments for men n rest r all 'general'... now u'll say yeah women can sit here too... awww duh!!! try getting into one... lucky (or rather unlucky) would b the one who gets in first of all... n then again the same torture... staring... ugly looks... u know once i had got in a 'general' compartment coz i didnt have time to rush for the ladies compartment... forget the crude looks n all... many men were like..aap ke liye ladies compartment hain na app idhar kyon chadhte ho... lol n this is called 'preferential treatment for women'...

aww i know women r to b blamed somewhere down the line... they have been treated badly all the time (mayb even becoz of their own vulnerability)... but then like it happens when ur last final trem paper is over... the moment u get freedom u'll act as if the worlds at ur feet... u can do nything... just like the 20 yr old did... disgusting!!!

That is exactly what The vampire is trying to tell u.If women could have made to all these places(Except few) then women could b treated like men. Till the end of your post graduation how many theorems and experiments do u study named after women(None except The curie effect).Is that because women were ill-preferred? No! because women arent ready for all these.WOmen just wanto be good and have a good mairrage and have a good settled life.

Sorry Krishna, your comment section is turning out to be a ground for debate here :-P I just have to reply to Mister Underhill's comments. He lives in his own little world where women are the root of all problems and men are the greatest.

Anyways, do you know what it takes for a woman to get a job? Do you know that in some companies they do not hire women because women get married and get pregnant and take maternity leave and hence the company has to hire someone else and train them all over again?
Do you know that even though a woman does the same amount of work a man does (sometime even more) she still gets paid less than what a man does because she is a woman?
Which fool told you that all a woman wants to do is be good and have a good marriage and settle down? Have you talked to a woman before forming this assumption or is this your own brainchild?

Don't forget who is dishing out the money for students in college. Its parents. If the parents don't decide to send their girls to Science colleges, its not because the girls are stupid. Its because education for girls even today is considered a waste.
In the 2004 CBSE exams, 82.28% of the girls cleared the exams compared to 76%of the boys. Now don't tell me that the examiner looked at the name on the paper and decided to mark leniently because this was a girl's paper!!
And don't you think you are contradicting yourself by saying 'Women are women and Men are men!'
We talk about equality here and you separate the sexes yet again!!!
Hey no hard feelings here, but again this is coming from someone who has seen and experienced this bias in the family (thankfully not mine!!) and in the workplace!!

I think a lot on these lines.. but when I try to put my thoughts on paper, I end up sounding chauvinistic. Which is not what my thoughts are. Solla theriyale, but yes, city women are given a lot of unfair advantages sometimes. Especially in places like ticket counters, buses, and so on..

hmmmm... i dont understand these(^o^);; but if i were indian man, i wud be awfully upset.
